Natina Reed was born Natina Tiawanna Reed October 28, 1979 in New York, United States. She rose to fame as part of the girl group Blaque in 1999 with the release of their debut single, 808. She was the protege of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes from TLC who signed the group to her production company, Left Eye Productions.

Blaque's debut included the gold selling single “808”, the international hit “Bring It All To Me”, and a third single, “I Do”. The group went on hiatus from 2002 until 2007, releasing only three unsuccessful singles, “Can’t Get It Back”, “Ugly”, and the international single from the film Honey, “I’m Good”. The group had three members: Shamari Fears-Devoe, Brandi Williams and Reed.

In 2001 collaborated with her then fiancé rapper Kurupt in 'It's Over' song from his Space Boogie album and according to MTV News Reed provided the hook for the rapper's solo single. They engaged in 2002, she gave birth to their son Tren Brown after the group was dropped from their label. She and Kurupt separated the same year . Reed was the cousin of former Destiny's Child member Farrah Franklin.

She starred in the film Bring It On alongside Gabrielle Union in 2000 and made album and cameo appearances in such as Ladie Night by Lil Kim (1997), V.I.P tv serie (2000) and Now Or Never with Shamar Woods (2007).

The rapper and actress died in a car accident few days to her 33rd birthday, as she was walking on a state highway in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time of her death, she had been working on a solo rap album, as well as a new movie and reunion with fellow members of Blaque.

The accident happened  near Lawrenceville, Georgia on U.S. Highway 29 near Hamilton Road. No charges expected, said Gwinnett police. Police and firefighters arrived to find a bystander performing CPR on Reed at the scene. She was pronounced dead a short time later at Gwinnett Medical Center. A preliminary investigation indicates that she was in the roadway when she was struck. Only the vehicle's driver and a passenger witnessed the impact.
