419 Car Mechanic Gets 2-Year Jail Sentence For Duping Mazda Owner - Sierra Leone

Auto mechanic Hassan Koroma, who collected nearly Le 2.000.000 from car owner sentenced to 2-year-8-months imprisonment on Thursday, February 26, 2015. 

According to expotimes, the prosecution alleged that on Tuesday 30 December 2014, at Paddy’s Night Club, Sir Samuel Lewis Road, Aberdeen, the accused obtained the sum of one million six hundred thousand leones from the complainant, Hamid Karim Bangura.

The Mazda owner futher told the court, he failed to switch the vehicle from right to left and unauthorized use of it.

Hassan plead to Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2, to buy him some time in order to raise all of the money to pay his client. Magistrate Sirray Wurie, however, declined, explaining there should be some amount of discipline in Sierra Leoneans.
