Bent Hoie Visit To Sierra Leone, Norway's Minister Of Health

Sierra Leone welcomed the Norwegian Minister of Health and Care Services, Bent Hoie on Monday, Feb 23rd.

Mr Hoie's purpose of visiting was to assess current situation and see how Norway can meet the Country's needs. Already, there are numbers of Norwegian health officers, both in the Capital and in the Ebola affected Provinces.

He made his first stop at an Ebola Treatment Center in Moyamba, where he met with members of the Norwegian team and British medical staffs.
Bent Hoie who was escorted by Madam Madinatu Rahman, Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation, made his rounds in the clinic with other officials.

In a gathering at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown, he unveiled Norway Government is enforced to help Sierra Leone to the best that they can because he believes this critical condition could be happening anywhere around the world.

“It is in this light that am in Sierra Leone to assess the situation on the ground in the ongoing Ebola war on behalf of my government in Norway” the MoH explained.

He also identified the impact the crises has placed social lives of Sierra Leoneans.
Hoie further explained that the presence of the Norwegian medical staff in Sierra Leone shows that they are committed.

Mrs Rahman revealed her discussion with the Minister as she disclosed to Awareness Times that the target is to health system in control which should be first approached.
