10 month old Texas baby twin girl, that shared liver and intestines overcome dramatic 26-hour operation.
Knatalye Hope and Adeline Faith Mata, born last year April 2014, are the world's first to survive this type of surgery, having shared the same chest wall.
Both girl shared lungs, pericardial sac (the lining of the heart), diaphragm, liver, intestines, colon and pelvis.
In total 12 surgeons, than 26 clinicians, six anesthesiologists and eight surgical nurses were on the operation desk.
Parent Elysse and John Eric of the conjoined twin said they can't thank the surgeons enough for giving their daughters the chance to live separate lives.
Dr Darrell Cass, paediatric surgeon said: 'This is the first time a separation surgery for thoraco-omphalo-ischiopagus twins with this particular configuration has been successful.
'This surgery was not without its challenges with the girls sharing several organ systems.
'Our team has been preparing for this surgery for months and we’ve done everything from working with our radiology experts to build a 3-D model of their organs, to conducting simulations of the actual separation surgery.'
The operation took place yesterday at Texas Children's Hospital and the girls are recovering. See more pictures below!
