New reports confirmed young girls are high victims with increased early pregnancy since the outbreak of the pandemic.
According to a UN published article by John Sahr Sahid via AllAfrica, sexual assault on teenagers heading out of control and need to be dealt with as a matter of urgency.
Dhuwarakha Sriram, a child protection specialist for UNICEF who also disapproved the high rate in girl-child marriage of recent said in a statement:
"We cannot give exact figures yet, as assessments are ongoing ... But what we are hearing from many of our different partners on the ground is that the prevalence has increased."
Mr Sriram continue..
"We're still looking into it, but these girls aren't going to school and they don't have much to do, so this may be why it has gone up."
