Grammy award singer, songwriter and activist, Angelique Kidjo is set to thrill the select audience at the grand finale of the second edition of the Etisalat Prize for Literature holding today at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lagos.
Kidjo, who picked her second Grammy for her 2014 album 'Eve' at the recently held 57th annual Grammy Awards, will perform her most popular hits including Wombolombo, We We and Agolo, to select high profile guests made up of writers, book critics and academics from across Africa. The award ceremony is to unveil Africa's best debut fiction writer of 2014.
Chief Executive Officer at Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher said Kidjo's performance is to further create a memorable and wholesome event put together to celebrate Africa's literary community.
The Etisalat Prize for Literature is the first ever pan-African prize to applaud first time writers of published fiction novels on the continent. The prize will bring together high profile writers, book critics and academics from across the continent and beyond to identify new writers of African descent.
