He went further to thank Captain Arne Johansen and Ulf Hennrikson for donating three brand new tractors for use on the Golf course and their spirit of club man ship is worthy of emulation.
Samba also takes the opportunity on behalf of the committee and members to thank the management and staff of the club for their commitment, resilience, and dedication to duty in spite of the various challenges posed by the Ebola Vrus.
He also stated even though they had to accept a salary cut for two months they continued to give off their best and we further to encourage them to continue to keep up the good work.
He revealed that after the improved financial situation of the club, the committee approved increases in salaries and allowances to staff across the board with effect of February 2015.
This is recognition of their hard work and dedication to duty and in line with the statutory minimum wage announced by government.
He also revealed that water supply it is significant to note that they were able to connect the main Guma Valley water company national grid which has eluded Golf for the past 16 years or more, thus providing uninterrupted supply of potable water to the club throughout the year.
“Hitherto, we had to make do with water drawn from wells located at the back of the club house.”
The Golf Course there has been a significant improvement of the golf course. The course has been regularly cleaned, the grass well manicured and tee boxes and browns repaired and rehabilitated.
This has enhanced and enriched the Golfing experience of our members.
