The former President of the Freetown Golf Club Solomon Samba in an interview with Now Latest, said there was not much tournament last year.
He disclosed to us there was a huge financial outlay involved in the year 2014 and due to that, they had to trim the cost of hosting tournaments not only to make it affordable for hosting companies, but also to represent value for money.
He also revealed the Ebola crises as well affected the Freetown Gold Club, but he would therefore entreat members, especially corporate their members include in the hosting of a tournament in post Ebola recovery programs.
Mr Samba said that the President tournaments were held in disregard to the pandemic that badly heated Sierra Leone. "That particular tournament comprised of Golf, Squash and Tennis."
Looking impressed of the arcivement as he adds, "indeed, they were resounding successes."
The ex President continues, "There has been a significant improvement on the Golf course.
The Course has been regularly cleaned, the grass well manicured and tee boxes and browns repaired and rehabilitated. This has enhanced and enriched the Golfing experience of our members." Mr Samba added.
"The Committee continued its beautification of the grounds in terms of planting flowers, general maintenance of the lawn, painting of the clubhouse and grounds thus enhancing the beauty and ambience of the club" said the former Freetown Golf President.
