Making a statement at the donation ceremony, Klin Salone Executive Director, Roy Bangura, called on beneficiaries to efficiently use the items and also have confidence in doing cleaning jobs, adding that cleaning garbage in communities was a blessed job for every human being.
Bangura advised beneficiaries to use the tools for their intended purpose as it is a pilot project for various districts, and singled out Bo district as the cleanest city in the country.
He said they have been working in the country for over five years now and expressed hope that a clean Sierra Leone would soon emerge as most diseases are caused by filth and garbage littered on the streets.
Also, Peter Lahai from GOAL stated that Klin Salone is the only sustainable organisation to have trained young people in waste management and waste disposal in the country, as he implored beneficiaries to use the materials for their intended purpose.
He said GOAL would monitor Klin Salone and organizations which received the largesse because they want to ensure that communities are kept clean.
One of the beneficiaries from the Area Base Organisation at Kossoh Town, Abu Bakarr Sesay, thanked Klin Salone and GOAL for promoting young people engaged in cleaning, adding that most communities in the country stunk in the past but since Klin Salone started involving youth in cleaning exercise, many communities now have clean environment.
CBOs that were supported are Portee Progressive Youths, Mount Aureol Anti Drugs, Leone Youths from Hill Station, Foulah Town Progressive Youth, Youth Diligent Education, Kissy Mental Home, and Area Brain Connection Organization.
