For sure, the list is endless as the country contains many powerful and strong women nationwide and across the world.

It is not about category in this lineup, this is to recognize Sierra Leonean women who are playing role in their respective fields.
Ten Sierra Leone Women Who Broke Boundaries is about the independence,  bravery and courageous hearts of phenomenal Sierra Leone women.


Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Walmina Oreshola Blyden: She is an influential woman in the Country and has earned herself global recognition as the Sierra Leone leading female right now. Dr. Blyden is a platinum journalist, political commentator, owner of the Awareness Times newspaper and the current Special Executive Assistant to President Ernest Bai Koroma. This phenomenal woman is alongside 50 selected African women from the continent to the Harvard University round table in the USA.


First Lady Sia Nyama Koroma: Behind every successful man, there is a strong, wise and hardworking woman. Mrs Koroma does not want to be only recognized as the President's wife, she is also engaged in numerous activities that her husband cannot include in his busy schedules, and as well in various charity works. She is behind Connaught Hospital's Dialysis Unit, which was delivered last month.


Isha Isatu Sesay: She simply made Sierra Leoneans proud, being among CNN news personalities that will live on miles and ages. During the Ebola Virus Crisis, she made sure her voice heard, that Sierra Leone receives the adequate support in a matter of urgency. She was furious about the slow response her country received. Even though Sesay was born and bred in the Europe, she is very much a powerful Salone woman.


Madam Vicky Fornah: What words do you have for this amazing songstress? She touched lives with her Gospel music, with one of her hit song 'Cry Africa'. She continues to unite Sierra Leoneans with her amazing voice. Mrs Fornah has always been fond of working with children in the Country and she is top of the list when it comes to charity songs. Her recent release is the Ebola awareness soundtrack.


Vickie Remoe: She is the first Sierra Leonean having a lifestyle talk show in our time. Vickie vowed as true citizen, as she launched her documentary program, which gave an insight of the beautiful Mano River Union country, that was yet to be discovered. She is also founder of 'Go Woman' Magazine and owner of 'Swit Salone' blog. Go Woman also has a sister branch in Ghana.


Vida Green: The name Vida is a household name for a decade now. The Sierra Leone singer shot to fame with 'Nor Play Me Wayo' song, which drew the attention of Ghana, the Gambia and numbers of African Countries. Its video clip earned her, the first female artist had her brand 'Vida Skirt' sold nationwide. Green is involved in a few organizations and was recently pictured with Dr. Sylvia Blyden.


Sai Sankoh: She is the major body of 'Because I Am Fabulous (BIAF Media) ', a style and fashion brand that worth couple of thousands . Being an independent woman, Sai is not afraid to grab the world by the lapels. She continues to inspire many young women.


Heyden Adama: She states that, women in music can be different to the expectation of the Sierra Leonean public. The 23-year old is credited as the most influential female musician with her creativity in the music industry.


Hassanatu Kanu-Idibia: Before she became Idibia, she was already an active screen star in the movie industry. Sana, as she is fondly called by friends, is the most notable Sierra Leonean actress in Nollywood and continues to flourish, even after the recent birth of her second child, she proves that women can do it in whatever circumstances.


Suga Lulu; One of Sierra Leone's recognizable character in the modern day music, Suga Lulu was born Anita Sabrah. She rose to fame as the siren voiced of Na Mi Cam So “It’s me, I Have Arrived”.
The singer is not only one of the great names of the music industry, but also someone who cares deeply about people. She is a goodwill ambassador for United Nation, Sierra Leone (UN) and ambassador for Amnesty International Sierra Leone.
