The Volleyball Association Sierra Leone scribe Ahmed Khanou who also doubles as the scribe of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) development commission will be supervising the CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Zone 2, pool 3 hosted in Guinea, Conakry from the 29th March to 2nd April 2015.
According to Awoko, Ahmed will be assisted by Bah Oury both of them attending the last technical supervisors seminar in Cairo about 2 weeks ago while Mory KEITA, CAVB 1st Vice President and NF President appointed Hady GUISSE to follow up and facilitate all the preparations for the event.
The Continental Cup is considered the qualification competition for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games as the champions secure their tickets to the prestigious event while the second and third ranked teams will have another trial to access the Olympics through the World Cup.
It is during this tournament that Sierra Leone male and female team will compete alongside the host Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Mali fighting for two slots who will proceed to the second phase (Regional) of the Olympic Games qualifying competition.
The Sierra Leone delegation is expected to depart today Thursday 26th March 2015 with a 20 man delegation comprising of 8 players, officials and supporters to cheer the team to victory.
