The abduction was carried out in Tambao, a city located approximately 350 kilometers north of Ouagadougou.
What can retain is that the hostage is a Romanian working for the site of manganese in Tambao. He was dealing with the security of the site. According to reports, he was in a vehicle which was ambushed by five men who were fully armed.
A countable Burkina Faso who has wanted to interpose the abduction was shot on the spot and is seriously injured. The driver was also injured during the attack.
The authors of the kidnapping, then headed toward the Sahel at the border of Mali with their hostage. The identity of the kidnappers is not yet known. The investigations are in progress to collect all the information on the circumstances of the abduction.
The Government of Burkina Faso has deployed a device on the ground in order to regain the hostage takers.
